American brand Tibi started out with a capsule collection full of colorful prints, which was bought by the luxury department store Lane Crawford. From then on, they started getting calls from the top multibrand boutiques in the U.S.
Amy Smilovic established her brand Tibi in 1997, with Octavia Hyland in Hong Kong. Surrounded by creativity, Amy flew to Asia after working for the advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather, and later for American Express. That's where she found the time to fulfil her dream of fashion design.
Smilovic and Hyland traveled frequently to the Thai island of Java, where they designed various prints using bright colors and rich textiles. Amy then moved back to New York, and she currently has a showroom and studio in Soho. Luxury, fun, originality and beauty are just some of the values on which Tibi is founded.
