Vacances is the name of the spring/summer 2012 collection by Family Affairs. Whether we holiday by the sea or in the mountains, these are the clothes we dream of wearing. There are summery printed dresses, flared miniskirts and sleeveless shirts - all in an innocently flirtatious, feminine style.

The animal and plant prints transport us to a children's story full of fun silhouettes. We like the use of patchwork on denim, transparencies and navy stripes, frilly designs fitted at the waist, plastic buttons and interesting collars. Overall, the Vacances collection is reminiscent of retro styles from the fifties and sixties, and characters like Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks.

Miriam Maina, the lookbook model, wears a braid to one side and some very natural looking make-up. The photos are the work of Philipp Mueller, and entire collection was made in New York.
